Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code praying to direct the respondent to file a Final Report in Crime No.4 of 2020 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Special Investigation Cell, Department of Vigilance and Anticorruption, (DVAC) Headquarters, Alandur, Chennai16 within a time frame as fixed by this Court. O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the respondent to file a Final Report in Crime No.4 of 2020 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Special Investigation Cell, Department of Vigilance and Anticorruption, (DVAC) Headquarters, Alandur, Chennai16 within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner/sole accused implicated for the offences https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

under Sections 7 and 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Amendment Act, 2018. He further submitted that the occurrence said to have taken place on 09.03.2020 and the First Information Report was registered on the very same day. Even though the First Information Report was registered on 09.03.2020, sofar the investigation has not been completed for more than 1 1⁄2 years and no final report has been filed. In such circumstances, the present criminal original petition has been filed for the aforesaid prayer.

3.The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the respondent submitted that, the investigation was completed and charge sheet has been forwarded to the Vigilance Commission on 10.11.2021 for approval. After getting approval, he should file the final report.

4.Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to file a final report in Crime No.4 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, within a period of eight weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
