Heard Mr.V.Purushothaman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader, accepting notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent on either side, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to release the Mini Lorry, bearing Registration No. TN 22 BK 8906, seized on 27.06.2016.

Seeking for the abovesaid relief, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondent, stating that, he is the sole bread winner of the family, and the mini lorry is being used only for transportation of vegetables from the remote villages to the towns, and he has not committed any illegality. 4.

The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent would submit that, the mini lorry was involved in transportation of river sand.

In any event, the representation is now pending before the respondent for consideration, and it appears that the Vehicle in question is in his custody. Considering the facts placed by the petitioner, and if there is no antecedents upon the petitioner of any such similar offence, then, the respondent may consider the petitioner's request, and release the vehicle subject to the payment of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) by the petitioner as fine towards the release of the vehicle. The direction issued hereinabove, shall be complied with by the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
