[R8 is suo motu impleaded as per the order of this Court dated 29.07.2025] Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 6 to 7 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 14.06.2025 seeking removal and relocation of the electric lamp post installed inside the petitioner's private property in Survey No.7/1 and Plot No.6 (6 and 7/C) near Chinna Pappammal Street/MRL Colony Street Chennai 600 118 to a suitable location on the adjoining public pathway and further direct the respondents to pay compensation at least from the date of complaint as available in the typed set till such removal. The Assistant Engineer, Kodungaiyur, Chennai, is suo motu added as the eighth respondent.

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 14.06.2025 wherein the petitioner is seeking for removal and relocation of the electric lamp post installed inside the property belonging to the petitioner to some other suitable location. The grievance of the petitioner is that the electric lamp post has been improperly installed within the private property belonging to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation in this regard and the same was not acted upon. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition came to be filed before this Court.

3. Heard Mr.Gokula Rao, learned counsel for petitioner, Ms.P.Aishwarya, learned Government Advocate appearing for first respondent and Mr.A.C.Mani Bharathi, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 2 to 5.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the 3/6

case and considering the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the impleaded eighth respondent along with all relevant documents and a copy of this order. The impleaded eighth respondent shall deal with the representation on its merits and take a decision within a period of eight

(8) weeks from the date of fresh representation from the petitioner. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
