Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records sequel to the impugned order passed by the second respondent's communication dated 25.09.2016 and consequently direct the respondent to grant permission to hold the Public Meeting on pursuant to petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2016.

Heard Mr.R.Thirumoorthy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, accepting notice on behalf of respondents. With the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be a member of organization, who wants to conduct the meeting to remember a person who passed away couple of years back and pay tribute stating that he has worked for the upliftment of the downtrodden. The permission for the same has been refused.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on instructions would submit that on account of the problem in Coimbatore District owing to the murder of a Hindu Munnani Activist and on account of the notification for the Local Body Election, the respondents have advised the petitioner to postpone the date of the meeting after the Local Body Election i.e., after 19.10.2016, after which, it will be considered.

4. In the light of the above, the order of rejection of the permission for conducting meeting cannot be interfered with. However, the petitioner may file a separate representation after the Local Body Election, requesting for permission for some other date which shall be considered subject to conditions.

5. Accordingly, the above Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
