Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to complete the process of the petitioner's application dated 26.07.2017 for grant of incentive of Rs.2.5 Lakhs along with Rs.25,000/- towards marriage expenses which is being granted for a intercaste marriage within a stipulated period that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to complete the process of the petitioner's application dated 26.07.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he belongs to schedule community and he got married to one Leelavathi, who belongs to Hindu Ambalakarar Community. The said inter-caste marriage was registered before the Sub Registrar, Coimbatore and the same was certified by the Tahsildar by his proceedings in Moo.Mu.A1/4208/2017 dated 13.07.2017. The Union Government introduced a scheme viz., Dr.Ambedkar Scheme for social integration through inter-caste marriages. As per the said scheme, whoever got inter-caste marriage, they are eligible to get a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- from the Government. Therefore, the petitioner made an application dated 26.07.2017 along with necessary documents. Till date, the petitioner's application is not processed. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition before this Court seeking appropriate direction.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the second respondent to process the petitioner's application and pass appropriate orders within the time stipulated as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent submitted that the petitioner's application will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent, the learned Additional Solicitor General of India for the second respondent and the learned Government Advocate for the third respondent and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned counsel on bothsides, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.07.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
