ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the respondent dated 12.07.2024, thereby rejected the representation submitted by the petitioner.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner is the resident of Vitchanthangal, Walajabad Taluk, Kanchipuram district. The Panchayat published a notice for weekly market auction to be held on 20.06.2024 in Kalakatur Village Panchayat. The entire weekly market auction was published in which, the petitioner did not participate. The auction has been held on 20.06.2024 and successful bidder was awarded with contract to collect the toll from the weekly market situated at Kalakatur Village Panchayat. The petitioner submitted an objection saying that he had deposited a sum of Rs.10,000/- by cash, for which he was not issued any receipt and he was not permitted to participate in the weekly market auction conducted on 20.06.2024. That apart, without allowing others to participate in the weekly market auction, they had awarded contract to the influenced person under corrupt practice.

A perusal of records revealed that there is no iota of evidence to show that the petitioner made deposit of sum of Rs.10,000/- to the respondent to participate in the weekly market auction held on 20.06.2024. That apart, without challenging the contract awarded in favour of the successful bidder, the petitioner raised objections. It was rightly considered and rejected by the respondent.

5. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the

order passed by the respondent and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed.
