The respondents-Police have declined to grant permission to the petitioner herein to conduct dance programme on the eve of Kumbabhishkam ceremony at Velur Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. The respondents-Police stated that law and order problem will arise, if permission is granted. Based on the past experience, the respondents-Police stated that in the Temple festival, there shall not be any dance programme. Hence, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the order of the respondents-Police. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
