ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register a case based on the petitioner's complaint dated 16.04.2015.

2. The petitioner was running a chit business. The petitioner's neighbour one Jeeva, who was a member in many of the chits, used to participate in the auction and bid successfully in many of the chits. Thereafter, she failed to pay the monthly chit amount and she has to pay a sum of Rs.6 1/2 lakhs towards the chit amount. She also used to get hand loans from the petitioner, which has also been accumulated to the tune of Rs.3 lakhs. namely Anbazhagan, called the petitioner to his house. When the petitioner went to his house, the said Anbazhangan scolded the petitioner with unparliamentary words and also threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint on 16.04.2015. But, till date, no action has been taken on the said complaint. Hence, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the first respondent to conduct enquiry on the complaint of the petitioner and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
