Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents, their men, agents or anybody claiming under them from interfering with the conduct of business in the name and style of "B+H MAKEOVER FAMILY SALOON" and SPA at No.14, Sri Ganesh Nagar, Korattur, Chennai - 600 099.

The petitioner is carrying on business under the name and style of B+H MAKEOVER FAMILY SALOON. The petitioner has employed qualified and trained therapists for doing his business and no illegal activities are done. However, without following the procedure, the respondents are interfering with the petitioner's business and in fact, they closed down more than 100 beauty parlours. In view of that, the petitioner has come before this Court.

Heard Mr.J. William Shakesphere, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.V. Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

On instructions, Mr.P.V. Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that on specific information, raids are being conducted to check whether there are any illegal activities going on and there is no harassment by the respondent Police.

The said statement is recorded. However, it is made clear that the respondents are at liberty to inspect and raid any premises, on specific information, as per law, without causing unnecessary harassment. The writ petition is disposed of with the above observation. No costs. Connected W.M.P. is closed.
