PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondents to provide police protection for the petitioner to attend the enquiry regarding his complaint dated 05.02.2019 with 1st respondent.

ORDER

The petitioner has filed this petition to direct the respondents to provide police protection for the petitioner to attend the enquiry regarding his complaint dated 05.02.2019 with the first respondent.

2. The apprehension of the petitioner is that he would be bodily injured and seeks safety of his life, since the petitioner had made a complaint against the politically powerful persons. The petitioner was threatened by one Prabakaran, Assistant Commissioner of Police that if he intends to appear and give statement in the enquiry, he would not return back to his native Palakkad. The petitioner though received notice twice to attend the enquiry, due to the threat, he was unable to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

appear.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that enquiry in E.No.1041359 of 2021 is pending before the Assistant Commissioner, Cyber Crime Cell, CCB, Chennai.

4. In view of the same, the petitioner to appear for enquiry before the first respondent and the respondent police to provide necessary police protection for the petitioner to appear for enquiry and also ensure that the petitioner is no way affected in any manner and the petitioner is free to make all the disclosures in the enquiry.

5. With the above directions, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
