Mr.K.Raja, Standing Counsel COMMON ORDER The writ petitions are filed for the below relief: "directing the Respondents to disburse 6 percent interest for belated payment of Provident Fund, Gratuity and leave Liability amount within the stipulated time ".

2. The brief facts which are culminated in the filing of this writ petitions are set out below:

2.1. It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioners had attained the age of superannuation on 31.05.2023. However, the retirement benefits namely the provident fund, Gratuity and Leave liability amounts had been settled only on 10.03.2025, without any interest. Hence, the petitioners have sent

representation to the respondent on 12.05.2025, 12.05.2025 and 15.05.2025 respectively to settle the interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits.

3. Heard the learned Counsels on either side and perused the records.

4. Admittedly, the retirement benefits has been paid belatedly for no fault of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to interest on the same. Therefore, the Writ petitions are allowed as prayed for and a mandamus is issued directing the respondents to disburse the 6% interst for belated payment of Provident fund, Gratuity and leave liability amount within a period of one

(1) month from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
