O R D E R

This Court suo motu impleads the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Panagal Maligai, Saidapet, Chennai - 600 015 as 6th respondent in this writ petition.

2.This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioners on 10.06.2024 and 13.06.2024 against the order passed by the District Collector, Virudhunagar, dated 14.05.2024.

3.When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that none of the respondents are appellate authority in this case and the appellate authority is only the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. 4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the petitioners to submit a fresh appeal before theDirector of Rural Development and Panchayat 3/6

Raj Department against the order passed by the District Collector, dated 14.05.2024, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department shall deal with the appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass final orders, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
