ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to relax and extend the lease period upto April 2026 in order to enable the petitioner to harvest the crops.

2. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the period of lease is already over and an auction was conducted and the petitioner also participated in the auction. However, he was not able to succeed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be able to reap the harvest only in April 2026 and therefore, the respondents must consider the same on humanitarian grounds.

4. In the considered view of this Court, the petitioner has no legal right to seek the relief as sought in this writ petition. It is left open to the petitioner to go and persuade the concerned official, and a mandamus cannot be issued in this

regard. It is made clear that the auction that has already been conducted will not be stalled by virtue of the present order passed in this writ petition.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed. 07-08-2025 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes
