ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the st respondent to process the application submitted by the petitioner on 19.04.2023, wherein the petitioner is seeking the issuance of a fresh passport in his name.
2. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 2 nd respondent, on instruction, submitted that there is no case pending before the 2 nd respondent. Insofar as the 3 rd respondent is concerned, an F.I.R (First Information Report) was registered in Crime No.14 of 2022, but this case Page No.2 of 6
ultimately ended in acquittal before the Mahila Court, Trichy in Spl.SC.No.117 of 2022 by judgment dated 12.06.2023.
3. Heard Mr.Leeban Arivalagan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Poorna Chandran, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the 1 st respondent, and Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing on behalf of the 2 nd respondent.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the materials placed, this Court directs the 1 st respondent to process the application submitted by the petitioner seeking for passport, and the passport shall be issued in the name of the petitioner, if the petitioner satisfies all the other required requirements within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
