Respondent PRAYER: This Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 483(1)(b) of BNSS, 2023, praying to modify the order dated 01.07.2025 passed by the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai in Crl.M.P.No.5592 of 2025 in Para (5) before the IX Metropolitan Magistrate, Chennai on condition that the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties and in the para [5(b)] petitioner shall appear before the respondent police daily at 10.00a.m., until further orders. The petitioner was granted anticipatory bail by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai in Crl.M.P. No.5592 of 2025, dated 01.07.2025. The petitioner has now filed the present petition seeking modification of the bail conditions on the ground that he is facing difficulty in appearing before the learned IX Metropolitan Magistrate to execute sureties. He states that the said court is located far from Velachery, where he resides. He also finds it difficult to appear before the respondent police, namely, the Inspector of Police, Guindy. Therefore, he seeks permission to appear before the Tambaram Court and Tambaram Police Station instead and has filed this petition accordingly.

2. Upon considering the submissions and perusing the materials on record, this Court finds that the petition lacks merit and sufficient grounds for modification. The petitioner, having obtained an anticipatory bail order in his favour, is expected to comply with the conditions therein. The distance from Velachery to the designated Court and Police Station is not substantial, as all the locations fall within the metropolitan area and are well connected by public transport.

3. It appears that the petitioner is making unwarranted excuses to avoid 2/4

complying with the bail conditions. This Court finds no valid reason to entertain the request for modification.
