1. The Writ of Mandamus has been instituted to direct the Respondents to grant ordinary leave for 60 days, without escort to the detenu, Somasundaram, S/o.Muniyandi, aged about 47 years, Convict No.6317, now confined at Central Prison, Puzhal.
2. This court heard the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the Respondents.
3. With reference to the ordinary leave application submitted by the convict prisoner, who is the husband of the Petitioner, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the Respondents would submit that the concerned Authorities will take a decision, within a period of two weeks. In view of the said submissions, the Respondents are directed to consider the ordinary leave application submitted by the convict prisoner, dated 08.06.2024 and pass appropriate orders, within a period of two weeks from today.
4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. (S.M.S.J.) & (V.S.G.J.) 2/4
