The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 29.10.2015 and to measure the property and to grant patta in respect of the property situated in No.149, Pallikaranai Village, Saidapet Taluk, Chengai MGR District in LIC Nagar comprised in S.No.3/4, nearing Plot No.33, measuring 2200 sq.ft belonging to the petitioner.

The case of the petitioner is that she is an absolute owner of the vacant land situated in No.149, Pallikaranai Village, Saidapet Taluk, Chengai MGR District in LIC Nagar comprised in S.No.3/4, nearing Plot No.33, measuring 2200 sq.ft. According to the petitioner, originally the property belonged to one Annakili and 7 others, who conveyed the property to one Lakshmi Ammal by a registered Sale Deed dated 25.10.1985 and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

registered as Document No.3217 of 1985 before the Sub Registrar, Saidapet. Thereafter, the petitioner purchased the said property from the said Lakshmi Ammal vide Document No.4514 of 1996 before the District Registrar, Madras South dated 27.09.1996 and from the said date, she is the absolute owner. It is the further case of the petitioner that the vacant lands were subsequently converted as housing plots by the Panchayat and there are 262 plots in the area, which was named as LIC Nagar. According to the petitioner, many plot owners have constructed the building for residential purpose and since the petitioner also wants to construct a house in her vacant land, she had applied for a patta to the respondent vide her representation dated 29.10.2015. Since till date, the same has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Sanjai Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.10.2015 for grant of patta after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as to any other necessary parties and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
