Heard Mr. M.Madhu Prakash, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner, Mrs. C.Sangamithirai, Learned Special Government Pleader for the First to Third Respondents and Mr. Sethuraman, Learned Counsel for the Fourth Respondent and Mr. M.Sankar, Learned Counsel for the Fifth Respondent and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

Learned Counsel for the Fifth Respondent, on instructions, states that the Petitioner had died on 12.04.2020 after the filing of the Writ Petition and his legal representatives have not contacted him till date and he has also made an endorsement to that effect on Court record. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely when they are not interested in prosecuting the same.

In such circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed as abated with clarification that the legal representatives of the deceased Petitioner are not precluded from applying for its revival in accordance with law.
