This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to revise the basic pay of the 1/4

petitioner from 18.08.2018, the date of his promotion as Checking Inspector till 20.09.2022 and to give the petitioner all service and attendant benefits based on the petitioner's representation dated 05.07.2024.

2. Heard Ms.R.Poornima, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.R.Venkatesa Perumal, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent.

3. The case of the petitioner is that initially the petitioner joined in the transport corporation as Conductor in the year 2001. Thereafter, the petitioner was promoted as Checking Inspector in the year 2018. The grievance of the petitioner is that even after his promotion as Checking Inspector, the pay was not revised and the petitioner continues to receive the salary fixed for the Conductor.

4. The petitioner made various representations in this regard requesting for revising the pay. Since it did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 2/4

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner dated 05.07.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
