ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2024 seeking correction of measurement of extent of land in Patta No.140.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner submitted a representation on 13.03.2024 before the respondents seeking correction in measurement of extent of land in Patta No.140 in respect of the land comprised in Survey No.695/3A situated in Thoranampathi Village, Tirupattur Taluk and District. It is stated that the same has not been considered by the respondents till date. Aggrieved, petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents on the basis of written instructions that error in patta in including the name of Angammal was under the UDR Scheme. He would further submit that jurisdiction/authority to rectify any error in the UDR 2/6

Scheme, vests with the District Revenue Officer (DRO). Therefore, he would submit that petitioner may submit an application/ representation before the DRO for rectification of the alleged errors in patta, however, he would point out that District Revenue Officer, Salem has not been made a party in this writ petition.

5. In view thereof, District Revenue Officer, Salem is suo-moto impleaded as 5th respondent in this writ petition.

6. It is open to the petitioner to submit any supporting documents/ records along with the representation before the concerned authority viz., 5th respondent to rectify the alleged errors in UDR patta. If any such representation/ application is made, the same shall be disposed of by the concerned authority i.e., 5th respondent after affording the petitioner and other interested parties a reasonable opportunity of hearing within a period of 16 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy.

7. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 31.07.2025 Speaking (or) Non Speaking Order Index : Yes/ No 3/6
