This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner under the Destitute Widow priority category for selection to the Combined Group IV Services, pursuant to the Notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in July 2022 and for selection to the Group IV services. 2.The petitioner states that she applied for the posts included in Combined Group IV Services, pursuant to the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in July, 2022. The petitioner further states that she appeared for the examination and she has scored 147 marks in the said examination.
It is the case of the petitioner that she is a Destitute Widow and though she had applied for Destitute Widow Certificate before the competent authorities, due to administrative delay, she received the Certificate only on 18.04.2023. Therefore, she was unable to upload the Certificate at the time of applying for the said post. However, immediately after the receipt of the Certificate, she made a representation to the TNPSC to consider the petitioner for selection under Destitute Widow Priority Category.
petitioner under the Destitute Widow Category. 3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. 4.Mr.I.Abrar Mohammed Abdullah, learned counsel, who takes notice for the respondents, submits that, as far as the posts of Junior Assistant is concerned, it has already been filled up and if the petitioner is qualified for any other post under the Group-IV Services, her case would be considered.
5.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the respondents, if the petitioner is eligible for any other post under the Group-IV Services notified by the TNPSC in July, 2022, other than Junior Assistant, and if the petitioner is willing to accept other posts, the respondents shall consider the case of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
