Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to place the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2021 before the fifth respondent and consequently direct the fifth respondent to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law and proper in the circumstances of the case. This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking delimitation of wards of the Mayiladuthurai Municipality. 2.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side. 3.

On perusal of the counter filed by the fourth respondent, revealed that before delimitation of the wards, draft notification for 2/5

delimitation process was published on 28.12.2017 thereby called for objections from the general public. On receipt of several objections from the general public with regards to delimitation of wards in respect of Mayiladuthurai Municipality, personal hearing on the said objections was held on 25.01.2018 in the meeting hall of the District Collectorate, Nagapattinam. After considering the objections, final notification was published on 14.12.2018 in respect of delimitation. The delimitation as per the geographical factors and required population factors was finalised and notified in the publication.

Therefore, the representation submitted by the petitioner raising objection in respect of delimitation of wards of the Mayiladuthurai Municipality cannot be considered. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and the same is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
