ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to produce the person of body of the petitioner's son J.Mageswaran, son of Jayaseelan, male, aged about 30 years, before this Court and set him at liberty. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her son Mageswaran, aged about 30 years, went missing from 30.04.2021 and thereafter, his whereabouts are not known. It is the grievance of the petitioner that despite her complaint, the police are not taking effective steps to secure her son. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Vellore Taluk Police Station Crime No.125 of 2021 was registered on 08.05.2021 for 'man missing' and investigation is in progress. He further submitted that the police have also circulated pamphlets regarding the missing of the detenu Mageswaran.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Vellore, to supervise the investigation in Vellore Taluk Police Station Crime No.125 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when detenu Mageswaran, aged about 30 years, is secured, he shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Vellore, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
