This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to register an FIR based on the complaint in COP No.1220 of 2022 dated 12.05.2022 made by the petitioner.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that on false promise of marriage, one Pradeep cheated the petitioner's daughter to the tune of Rs.11,75,000/-. Though the petitioner gave complaint before the first respondent on 12.05.2022, no case has been registered against the said Pradeep. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents police submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, enquiry has been conducted in COP No.1220 of 2022. During the course of enquiry, the petitioner himself gave a statement before the respondent police as if there is a proposal for settling the matter, therefore, the petitioner did not want to continue the case. Hence, the second respondent police closed the complaint. 2/4
