PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, praying to transfer the investigation in Crime No.161 of 2019 pending on the file of the Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Team-I Chennai 1st respondent to the Inspector of Police, EOW, HQ Guindy, Chennai the 2nd respondent herein. This petition is filed to transfer the investigation in Crime No.161 of 2019 pending on the file of the 1st respondent herein to the 2nd respondent herein.

2. In connection with the same set of facts involved in the present case in Crime No.161 of 2019 pending on the file of the Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Team-I, Chennai, a complaint has been registered in Crime No.1 of 2019 before the Inspector of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Guindy, Chennai. While that being so, it would not be appropriate for the matter to be investigated by two different Investigation Officers on the same set of facts.

3. In these circumstances, the investigation pending in Crime No.161 of 2019 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Team-I, Chennai, is directed to be transferred to the file of the Inspector of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Guindy, Chennai, who is the 2nd respondent herein and investigate along with Crime No.1 of 2019. Such an exercise shall be completed within a period of 2 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Criminal Original Petition stands ordered accordingly.
