ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.05.2025 and to issue revised Tahsildar list as per seniority and include the petitioner's name notionally in Tahsildar list with all consequential benefits within the stipulated time as prescribed by this Hon'ble Court.
2. Heard Mr.T.K.S.Bharathy Shri, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. The Petitioner states that he joined Government service through TNPSC in the year 1995 as Junior Assistant. Thereafter, he was promoted as Assistant in the year 1998, and became eligible for promotion as Deputy Tahsildar in the year 2003 under the MBC quota. However, his name was wrongly omitted in the 2003 panel and he was belatedly promoted only in the year 2007. Pursuant to the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 11.09.2018, his name was included in the revised 2004 Deputy Tahsildar panel.
4. Though his colleagues in the same panel were promoted as Tahsildars between 2008-2021, the Petitioner was left out and retired on 31.05.2019 as Deputy Tahsildar. Since his repeated representations, seeking notional promotion as Tahsildar and thereafter Deputy Collector were not considered, and his latest representation dated 27.05.2025 remains pending, he approached this Court by way of this writ petition.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 27.05.2025 on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. In fine, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
