ORDER
The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the community of the wife of the writ petitioner has been erroneously entered in the marriage certificate of the petitioner.
2. The marriage between the petitioner and his wife was solemnized on 02.02.1996. While so, the petitioner submitted a representation after a lapse of twenty years on 16.08.2016 to correct the name of the community of his wife in the marriage extract. The petitioner has not explained why there is an enormous delay in submitting the application to correct the entries in the marriage certificate. The petitioner states that the community certificate issued by the competent Revenue Authority also has been furnished before the Registrar.
3. If at all the original records are available, then alone the authorities would be in a position to conduct appropriate enquiry. Thus, the third respondent shall verify the marriage certificate issued in favour of the petitioner and if any mistake is identified, then, it is to be rectified by conducting appropriate enquiry and by verifying the original records.
4. With these directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
