By consent of both the parties this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

This writ petition is filed seeking a to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondents herein to rectify the mistake arising in the revenue records pertaining to the lands having an extent of 1.21 acres, having patta No.723, comprised in survey No. 97/4A2,4E3, 4E8, 4E14 Situated in Gandhi Kanavai Village, Ramalai Village and Post, Gudiyatttam Taluk, Vellore District and issue computer generated chitta/ patta showing the name of petitioner's grand mother late D. Valliammal 2/5
3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's grandmother late D. Valliammal executed a gift deed to the petitioner wherein the property comprised in S.No.80/3, 0.61 cents were settled to the petitioner. The remaining land of 1.21 acres stood in the name of petitioner's grandmother late D. Valliammal. The grievance of the petitioner is that, the 4th respondent has committed a mistake by showing some other name in the revenue record with regard to the remaining 1.21 acres. To rectify the same the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
4. Since no adverse order is passed against the 5th respondent notice to 4th respondent dispensed with.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

On perusal of the records it is seen that the petitioner's grandmother has settled a certain portion of the property owned by her to the petitioner and the remaining portion of the property stood in her name. Such being the case the prayer sought for by the petitioner as there is error in the revenue records with regard to the remaining portion of the subject land is not sustainable and the petitioner has nothing to do with the subject land. Such being the case, there is 3/5
no merit in the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Hence this writ petition is devoid of merits. Accordingly this writ petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
