Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the 2nd respondent in its proceedings No.760/E/2016, dated 10.03.2017 and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to take action against the 3rd to 10th respondents as per Sections 36 to 40 & Section 50 of the Tamil Nadu Societies Act.

This writ petition has been filed challenging the notice issued by the District Registrar for appearance and to produce certain documents and it is only a notice issued for production of certain documents.. 2/5

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Society has become defunct and since the notice is only with regard to production of certain documents to the Registrar for verification of the accounts of the society and the documents.

3. This Court is of the view that such notice will not become invalid in the eye of law.

4. At this stage, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that for several years records of accounts have not been submitted and hence seeks a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to take action against the Society as per Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act for non submission of accounts and audit reports.

5. Such view of the mater, the writ petition is dismissed and the respondents 1 and 2 shall look into the affairs of the Society as per law as expeditiously as possible. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs.
