ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue legal heirship certificate based on the application submitted by the petitioner on 29.06.2024, wherein the petitioner and his sister claim to be Class-II legal heirs of the deceased M.Subbaian.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the said M.Subbaian died on 21.02.2021. His wife also died on 08.05.2022 and there are no legal heirs left behind. Hence, the petitioner submitted the application before the respondents seeking for legal heirship certificate as Class II legal heir and to include the name of the petitioner and his sister in the legal heriship certificate. The petitioner is relying upon G.O.Ms.No.110, Revenue and Disaster Management dated 13.03.2024. Since the application was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3. Taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to Page No.2 of 4

submit an online application to the respondent along with all the relevant particulars and on receipt of the same, the respondents shall deal with the same on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of the online application from the petitioner.
