In compliance to the order passed by this Court on 28.10.2022, the Inspector of Police attached to the respondent station appeared in person and reports that final report filed on 02.11.2022 before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai in C.C.No.12726 of 2022 assigned.
2. In the light of the action taken by the present incumbent the Inspector of Police, this Court is of the view that the direction to pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) to the Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, High Court Campus, Chennai for the lapse, though complied and receipt dated 01.11.2022 is produced, it is appropriate to refund the amount to the Inspector of Police who have deposited the money, so as to avoid disciplinary action from the department.
3. Accordingly, the Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, High Court Campus, Chennai is directed to refund back the amount of Rs.10,000/- to the Inspector of Police, which he has paid on 01.11.2022 in receipt No.770.
4. In the light of the above facts, nothing more survives in this petition. Hence, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 08.11.2022 rpl Dr.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.
