This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to deal with the appeal filed by the petitioner on 24.05.2024 and pass final orders withinthe time frame fixed by this Court.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
3.The case of the petitioner is that he was working as a Senior Superintendent in the Transport Corporation. Departmental proceedings were initiated against the petitioner and the 2nd respondent through proceedings dated 22.05.2024, imposed a punishment of withholding the increment for three months without cumulative effect. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the 1st respondent on 24.05.2024. The grievance of the petitioner is that the 1st respondent has not dealt with the appeal till date. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the appeal filed by the petitioner on 24.05.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass final orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.In the result, his Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
