The petitioner, who is arrayed as an accused, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.01.2016 for an alleged offence punishable under Section 379 of IPC and subsequently altered into Section 397 of IPC in Crime No.163 of 2016 on the file of the respondent police and hence, seeks bail.

2.Learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] submitted that the petitioner was detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate [Criminal side], this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
