The respondent before the arbitral tribunal has presented this application seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. It is stated that the proceedings could not be concluded within the stipulated time limit because of the institution of proceedings under Section 14 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and for other reasons such as the Covid-19 pandemic. It is stated that the proceedings are at the stage of final arguments.

2. Learned counsel for the respondent is present and has no objection to this application being allowed.

3. By taking into account the current stage of the arbitral proceedings, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended by a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
