Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to take action against the President and officials of the Kannambakkam Panchayat who have misappropriated the funds of the Panchayat and abused their position.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.Arikarasudan representing Mr.B.Harikrishnan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for the respondent.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there was huge defalcation of the amount by the President and the officials of the Kannambakkam Panchayat. Several representations were given, but no action has been taken.

3. Learned Government Pleader, on instructions would submit that Deputy Block Development Officer was appointed as Enquiry Officer on the basis of the complaint received from the petitioner. The Deputy Block Development Officer conducted the enquiry and has submitted a report on 09.10.2020. In the enquiry report, he has not accepted the contentions in the complaint.

4. Learned Government Pleader further submits that the District Collector has not yet closed the file and the order that would be passed by the District Collector would be communicated to the petitioner. If the order is adverse, then the petitioner may agitate the same.

With the above observations, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
