PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 to 4 to appoint the petitioner as Trustee for the Angala Parameswari Temple, Choolai, Erode - 4.

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to respondents 2 to 4 to appoint the petitioner as trustee of Angala Parameswari Temple, Choolai, Erode - 4.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that in response to the notification issued by the 3rd respondent calling for application for appointment of NonHereditary Trustee for the above said temple, the petitioner and two other persons submitted applications. It is further stated by the petitioner that two other applicants, who submitted their applications earlier, approached the 3rd respondent and expressed their unwillingness to get appointed as trustee. In 2/4

these circumstances, the application of the petitioner shall be considered positively and he shall be appointed as Non-Hereditary Trustee.

3. Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate (HR and CE) takes notice for the respondents and on written instructions, submitted that the 3rd respondent received applications from three persons including the petitioner. The applications are under process before the District Committee for appointment of Non-Hereditary Trustees. The learned Government Advocate further submitted that the process of appointment of NonHereditary Trustees will be considered in respect of the above mentioned temple as expeditiously as possible.

4. In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the 3rd respondent to complete the process of appointment of Non-Hereditary Trustee to Angala Parameswari Temple, Choolai, Erode - 4, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
