ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Writ of Mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to appoint an Administrator to administer the full affairs of the 6 th respondent and its various District Associations, to collect information as to the various Page No.3 of 7
membership details of the 6 th respondent and its District Associations, to conduct Kabaddi Competitions at the district level to form an electorate for the individual district associations, and thereafter to conduct fair and transparent election of office bearers to the various District Associations and the Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association by following the Model Election Guidelines as specified under the National Sports Development Code, 2011, pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 19.08.2023, and to issue such directions as may be necessitated for the promotion of Kabaddi.
2. The 6 th respondent is the Tamil Nadu Amachur Kabadi Association, which is a registered society under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975. Thus, the 6 th respondent is not within the meaning of Article 12 of the Constitution of India. The affairs of the 6 th respondent Association is governed under its own bylaws as approved by the competent authority under the Societies Registration Act.
3. Thus, the disputes are to be resolved in the manner contemplated under the Act and by following the procedures. However, seeking appointment Page No.4 of 7
of an administrator though a writ petition is not maintainable.
4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
