PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose of the enquiry and pass final order in the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 21.06.2019 relating to cancellation of patta granted to late Govindammal for S.No.335/4B for an extent of 0.01.00 Ares in Vaduvur Agraharam Village, Needamangalam Taluk, Thiruvarur. This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose of the enquiry and pass final order in the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 21.06.2019 relating to cancellation of patta granted to late Govindammal for S.No.335/4B for an extent of 0.01.00 Ares in Vaduvur Agraharam Village, Needamangalam Taluk, Thiruvarur.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents and the learned counsel for the private respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is the contention of the petitioner that though he has filed an appeal on 21.06.2019 before the second respondent, no notice was served on him and no final order has been passed by the second respondent so far.

4. Since the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking for simple writ of mandamus to dispose the petitioner's appeal, the second respondent is directed to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 21.06.2019 after affording due opportunity of hearing and notice to the writ petitioner, the third respondent herein as well as /rival claimants/ interested parties if any, as the case may be, and dispose the appeal on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this

order.

5. With the abovesaid direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
