By consent of both parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final hearing.

This Writ Petition has been filed by Mr.R.Govindasamy, challenging the impugned notification, dated 12.01.2016, inviting applications to fill up the vacancies, in the post of Junior Training Officer in Government Industrial Training Institutes, by direct recruitment, for the year 2014-15 and consequently, direct the respondents to relax the age limit, in respect of the petitioner, for his employment.

Mr.B.Nedunchezhiyan, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that after completing SSLC, the petitioner had undergone the course of National Trade Certificate, under the Industrial Training Institute and obtained Provisional National Apprenticeship Certificate. Thereafter, he has completed M.A., and M.Phil, under correspondence course. He has got working experience of eight years, as Mechanist from 03.01.2003 to 13.02.2010, at A.K.Enterprises, Coimbatore.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that with the above qualifications, the petitioner has enrolled in the District Employment Exchange, Salem, but he was not called for any post. Finally, in the impugned notification, the 2nd respondent has fixed the outer age limit as 40 years. Since the petitioner was aged 46 years, he is ineligible to apply for the said post, on the grounds of overaged and therefore, he has filed this writ petition, for the reliefs, stated supra. Heard Mr.A.Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perusal the materials available on record.

The prayer in the main writ petition itself is not entertainable, on the only ground that the petitioner is overaged, i.e., 46 years, on the date of notification. Therefore, the request for relaxing the age limit, suiting his convenience, cannot be entertained. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
