Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 08.11.2018 submitted by the petitioner against the revision of property, Notice No.1 Property Tax General Revision 2018-2019 dated 08.10.2018 issued by the 3rd respondent in respect of the petitioner's property being ground and premises, situated at Door No.172, G.N.T. Road, Ring Road, Madhavaram, Chennai-600 060 after affording opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner in accordance with law.

This writ petition is filed seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 08.11.2018 filed by the petitioner.
2. Heard both sides.
3. The petitioner claims to be the owner of the property situated at Door No.172, G.N.T. Road, Ring Road, Madhavaram, Chennai-600 060. It is stated that the Notice No.1 Property Tax General Revision 2018-2019 dated 08.10.2018 was served on the petitioner on 26.10.2018, thereby, revising the property tax at Rs.1,80,255/- as against existing amount of Rs.29,345/- with effect from half yearly period-I/2018-2019. Challenging the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the second respondent on 08.11.2018. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said appeal is still pending.
4. When the matter was taken up for admission on 10.09.2019, Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent/Corporation took notice for the respondents and sought time to get instructions as to whether the appeal is still pending or not.
5. Accordingly, the matter is listed today for further hearing.
6. The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent/Corporation submitted that the appeal is still pending and the second respondent will dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law.
7. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the appeal, this Writ Petition is disposed of, only by directing the second respondent to consider the appeal dated 08.11.2018 filed by the petitioner and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till an order is passed by the second respondent, no coercive action shall be takenagainst the petitioner. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
