ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, to conclude the trial in C.C.No.13205 of 2014 within the stipulated time.

The contention of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is that the de facto complainant/petitioner has preferred a complaint before the II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, under Section 190(1) r/w. Section 200 Cr.P.C., for the offences under Sections 406 & 420 IPC and the same has been taken on file as C.C.No.13205 of 2014. However, despite the lapse of time, there has been no progress in the trial. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to expedite the trial.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent. 2/4

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case particularly that despite the case having been taken on file in the year 2014, the trial is still pending, this Court directs the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, to complete the trial in C.C.No.13205 of 2014 as expeditiously as possible.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 08-09-2025 mrp To II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai.
