ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed, for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, calling for the records in No.M.C.14/STD/PCO/MAS/16 dated 03.11.2016 passed by the second respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to continue with the license as per the earlier terms.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing on 24.11.2021, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. Therefore, this Court directed the Registry to list the case under the caption "for dismissal" on 26.11.2021. Accordingly, the matter is listed today. Today also there is no representation for the petitioner.

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking direction to the second respondent to quash the demand notice dated 03.11.2016 and permit the petitioner to run STD booth at Madras Beach Railway Station. He would further submit that, some of the booths are closed down due to the nonpayment of license fee and the petitioner's booth was one among them. Moreover, now, the respondents have discontinued the practice of allotting STD booth in the Railway Stations.

4. The submission of the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents is recorded. Since, there is no representation for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. However, the petitioner is at liberty to make a representation to the respondents, in the event, any new allotment is made. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitioners are closed.
