Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to revoke the permission granted to the 5th respondent for quarrying common earth from Government Poromboke Vadagal Eri in Sy.No.28 of Aathoor Vadagal Village, Chengalpet District (earlier Kanchipuram District) in proceedings Na.Ka.No.248/Mines/2024 dated 08.07.2025, based on the representations of the petitioner and villagers dated 06.07.2025 and 14.07.2025 and in view of G.O.(Ms) No.50-Industries (MMC.1) Department dated 27.04.2017 and the other grounds pleaded in the affidavit.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) As against the allegation of illegal quarrying by private respondent, learned State counsel makes a clear statement, supported by status affidavit, that due to serious public objection,

though quarry lease was granted, it was not allowed to operate and the period of lease has expired on 21.08.2025.
