The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 4(1)(aa), 4(1-A) of T.N.P. Act in Crime No.135 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 477 liquor bottles. Hence, the complaint was registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 477 liquor bottles. He would further submit that there are five previous 1/3

cases, similar in nature, pending against the petitioner. He would also submit that the petitioner's earlier anticipatory bail petitions were dismissed by this Court vide order dated 04.07.2022 and 16.08.2022 in Crl.OP.No.15069 of 2022 and Crl.O.P.No.19257 of 2022 respectively . Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner and the previous cases pending as against the petitioner, there is no change of circumstance, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed with cost to the tune of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) to the credit of the Chief Justice Relief Fund, High Court, Madras. 11.10.2022 Anu 2/3
