COMMON JUDGMENT (made by DR.VINEET KOTHARI, J.) The present appeals have been filed against the interlocutory order passed by the learned Single Judge on 22 June 2017 directing the Appellant/Corporation to deposit 50% of the amount ordered in the Computation Petition filed by the workman. A Division Bench of this Court, by order dated 17 November 2017, directed the Appellant/ Corporation to deposit 50% of the amount ordered in the Computation Petition to the credit of the respective petitions on the file of the II Additional Labour Court, Chennai, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
2. The learned counsel for the Appellant/ Corporation Ms.Rajini Ramadoss submitted that the cheques for such deposit of 50% were prepared in the month of February 2018 and in view of the expiry of four weeks' time as stipulated by this court, the same could not be deposited in the Labour Court. She undertakes that the Appellant/ Corporation will deposit such amount within three weeks from today.
3. The appeal is accordingly disposed of, recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the Appellant/Corporation. No costs. Consequently, C.M.P.Nos.18970 to 18974 of 2017 are closed.
