Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the respondent's letter bearing No.2510/2006, dated 16.10.2006 pertaining to the petitioner's agricultural lands and well comprised in Survey No.794/1C1 and 794/1C2, situated in Jadayampalayam Village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District, quash the same and direct the respondent to give 15 HP permanent electricity connection in respect of the said lands and the well by reconsidering the petitioner's application dated 19.08.2005.

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to call for the records pertaining to the respondent's letter bearing No.2510/2006, dated 16.10.2006 pertaining to the petitioner's agricultural lands and well comprised in Survey No.794/1C1 and 794/1C2, situated in Jadayampalayam Village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District, quash the same and direct the respondent to give 15 HP permanent electricity connection in respect of the said lands and the well by reconsidering the petitioner's application dated 19.08.2005.

2.This Court is not provided with any information in respect of the subsequent developments took place for considering the case of the writ petitioner for granting permanent electricity connection.

3.The fate of the application submitted by the writ petitioner on 19.08.2005 has also been not known. Under these circumstances, it is left open to the respondent to consider the application, if the same is pending and take a decision in accordance with the rules and regulations, prevailing as of now. It is needless to state that if any application is filed seeking electricity connection, it is for the authorities to consider the same in accordance with law and take a decision on merits.

4.With these observations, the writ petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
