ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 04.03.2024.

2. Mr.D.Ravichandran, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, initially, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 27.03.2021 before the 3rd respondent seeking for cancellation of patta issued in favour of the 3rd parties. The said representation was 2/6

erroneously rejected vide order dated 08.02.2024. Aggrieved over the said order, an appeal was filed by the petitioner before the 2nd respondent on 04.03.2024. However, the said appeal was not considered by the 2nd respondent till date. Hence, this petition.

5. In reply, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would request this Court to grant 4 weeks time to dispose of the petitioner's appeal.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

7. In the case on hand, initially, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 27.03.2021 before the 3rd respondent seeking for cancellation of patta issued in favour of the 3rd parties. The said representation was rejected vide order dated 08.02.2024. Aggrieved over the said order, an appeal was filed by the petitioner before the 2nd respondent on 04.03.2024. However, the said appeal was not considered 3/6

by the 2nd respondent till date.

8. In view of the above, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

9. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
