This application has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time for the arbitrator to pronounce the arbitral award for a period of twelve months from 12.02.2025 to 12.06.2026.

2. The learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the respondent has no objection for allowing this application. At the same time, he would submit that the application filed by the respondent before the arbitrator under Section 17 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking for an extension of the bank guarantee is still pending and has not been adjudicated by the arbitrator.

3. The contentions of the learned counsel for the respondent can be Page No.1 of 3

adjudicated only by the arbitrator and not by this Court in an application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

Since the respondent has stated no objection for granting extension of time for the arbitrator to pronounce the arbitral award and since sufficient cause has been shown by the applicant for seeking extension, this Court has to necessarily allow this application. Accordingly, this application is allowed as prayed for by granting extension of time for the arbitral Tribunal to pronounce the arbitral award for a period of twelve (12) months from 12.02.2025 to 12.02.2026. 25.08.2025 sp Page No.2 of 3
