Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., seeking to call for the records relating to the impugned Judgment dated 03.02.2021 passed in C.C.No.324 of 2013 by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Arni and quash the same.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed to compound the offence under Section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act on the ground that the parties have compromised the dispute.

2.The respondent/ complainant filed a complaint against the petitioner for offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable 1/4

Instruments Act. The proceedings ended in conviction through Judgment dated 03.02.2021 passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Arni. After the judgment was passed, there was a compromise between the parties. A Memorandum of Understanding dated 25.07.2023 has also been filed before this Court.

3.The respondent/ complainant was present in person and he stated that the amount has been settled and the matter has been compromised.

4.In the light of the above development, the offence is compounded under Section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The Judgment passed in C.C.No.324 of 2013 by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Arni, dated 03.02.2021 is hereby set aside. This criminal original petition stands allowed.
