Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation dated 27.05.2024 made by the petitioner herein to remove the illegal encroachments made upon 30 feet public street before the Door No.7-A, Angala Parameswari Street, Kadampadi Amman Nagar, Chennai - 600 107 and pass appropriate orders within a stipulated time period.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The primary relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the first and second respondents to dispose of the representation dated 27.5.2024 filed by the petitioner.

2. Mr.D.B.R.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2, states that the representation of the petitioner shall be considered and disposed of within two weeks after hearing the parties, and latest within four weeks from today. Learned Standing Counsel states that he shall convey to the authorities concerned that the time starts from today, even though the order copy may not be ready. Statement made by Mr.D.B.R.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 and 2, is accepted as an undertaking on behalf of respondents 1 and 2.

3. The first respondent shall pass an order in accordance with law after hearing the parties concerned, i.e., the petitioner and the third respondent. Notice of personal hearing shall be communicated at least three working days in advance.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. We hasten to add that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. There shall be no order as to costs.
